WEEK + THEME QUESTIONS

WEEK 1 + OFF WORK

ARC.Hive is collecting memories of the “off-work” practices that shaped life in and around CAPLA. We are interested in the architectures of survival and escape: all-nighters and the kits that got you through them, the moments you chose to walk out of a room, the places you collapsed into sleep, the sketchbooks that absorbed your thoughts, and the rituals that quietly structured your days. Your responses will inform a series of articles that map how students inhabit the studio; through habits, side routes, and shared routines that rarely appear in official drawings but define the school's culture.

WEEK 2 + ACTIVITY MAPPING

This week, we’re gathering stories that map the rhythms, relationships, and environments that shaped life in and around CAPLA. These questions trace the social, emotional, and spatial hive that defined our experiences. Everything from the routines that structured our days to the mentors and peers who influenced our paths, your responses will help us build a collective portrait of the habits, communities, and memories that sustained us during the past five years.

WEEK 3 + HIVE AT HEART

Being at CAPLA feels a lot like being with your family. You can't choose them, and you're stuck around them for better or for worse. Some of us found lifelong friendships, a life partner to grow old with, a lover turned enemy, and people best left buried in the past.

WEEK 4 + DIGITAL WORK

This week we’re exploring the unseen digital labor behind every project. We’re collecting the processes you rarely show. The messy Rhino screens, cursed layers, glitches, forgotten PSD files, and the file names you swore you’d reorganize. Every digital trace that carried your project to the finish line. We want to know all about the work you produced and how you produced it. The good, the bad, and the ugly that got you to that deadline.

WEEK 5 + PHYSICAL WORK

In today's digital age, many people have become accustomed to working in the digital realm, but there are times when the best option is to roll up your sleeves and start thinking with your hands. This week, we're exploring the physical development of the work you've produced over the past few years.

WEEK 6 + THEN & NOW

Recent times have left us in a state of reaction. With the constant push and pull of consumerism and productivity, we often find ourselves without proper time for reflection. This week, we stop and look back at a few moments that molded us into the people we've become today.

WEEK 7 + CAPSTONE PROJECT

Every student looks forward to the day they get to travel to an unknown city to explore and prepare for what will be their final and most important project of their undergraduate career. This week, we're diving into what that preparation was like and how it shaped what became your Capstone Project.

WEEK 8 + OCCUPATIONAL STRESS

For many young architects, development through school and into professional practice is not as easy as they once believed; it becomes a changing but ever-present pressure. Subsequently, as graduates enter the workforce, some unfortunately find that this culture still persists across some firms. But to get there, you first need a job, and that market itself can feel discouraging. While navigating all this, many young architects find themselves sacrificing their physical and mental health establishing stability in the profession of architecture.
